WHAT TO EXPECT
My Approach
I bring both practical and lifetime experiences to my role.
I have worked and continue to work with a range of clients within the charity and state sectors.
Our therapeutic relationship, offering non-judgment, authenticity, and empathetic understanding, is central to our work.
Additionally, treatment can be tailored to suit your specific needs, by incorporating theories and tools from a range of other therapeutic approaches where relevant.
Being listened to and heard
Listening and validating your experiences is an essential part of our work.
Having someone independent away from friends and family can offer a safe place to share your most inner thoughts, free of judgment.
Listening to your body
Somatic work, through embodiment practices such as breathwork, informs how traumatic experiences resonate in the present day.
Learning to understand and regulate your nervous system will help you move forward.
What is my counselling Approach
Counselling is a therapeutic relationship, built on trust and understanding
Sessions are led by you
My role is to support your thoughts, feelings, and any areas of distress
Disclosed information is confidential, unless there is a risk to yourself or others
Sessions are open-ended and reviewed together, you can withdraw at any time
An external supervisor monitors my work, without identifying your name & details. This ensures I am providing you with a service to meet your needs
